Epple Named Partner for Weitzman Austin

AUSTIN–Matt Epple, an experienced commercial and retail real estate professional with Weitzman since 2006, has been promoted to Partner – Development and Brokerage in Austin for the statewide commercial real estate services company.

In this role, Epple will identify and execute development and acquisition opportunities for the company in Central Texas. He will also continue to oversee the Austin office’s brokerage team and works with its members to extend the firm’s reach and presence with clients, prospects and the overall industry at large. Currently, the office’s brokerage team is responsible for leasing more than 10 million square feet of space in projects ranging from office buildings, small neighborhood strips to large regional-draw power and specialty retail destinations.

Epple also directs the Corporate Services Division in Austin, which offers office tenant representation services, and specializes in retail tenant representation, investment sales, and project representation. Clients he represents include Chase Bank, Sam’s Club (disposition), Wingstop, Anytime Fitness and a number of local Austin businesses.

Epple ranked in Weitzman’s statewide Top 10 Producers for 2016, 2017 and 2018. In 2006, his first year with the firm, he was recognized as Rookie of the Year for Weitzman on a companywide basis. In addition, Epple has earned the Power Broker Award from CoStar multiple times based on his transaction volume. He has also been ranked as a Heavy Hitter in the Austin Business Journal multiple times.

Epple has been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Real Estate Council of Austin, the Commercial Brokers Association (CBA), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Epple was appointed to the RECA Leadership Development Council in 2008. He also is a member of the University of Texas Real Estate Finance and Investment Center (REFIC).

Epple received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
