Jim Traynor Joins Foundry Commercial as Managing Director, Development & Investments in Dallas

Dallas, Texas (July 7, 2021) – Foundry Commercial, a full-service real estate services and investment firm with offices across the Sun Belt, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Traynor to the position of Managing Director, Development & Investments (D&I) with a primary focus on the Dallas market.

In his role, Traynor will be responsible for sourcing, capitalizing, and executing commercial real estate acquisitions and development opportunities in office, industrial, and retail product types throughout Dallas – Fort Worth. Traynor will build off the momentum of the Foundry D&I platform in the southeast that has completed 42 projects totaling nearly $3 billion in development and investments since 2015 and is on track to complete 10 million square feet and $1.5 billion in development in 2021.

Traynor comes to Foundry from his position as Managing Director of Acquisitions at Acram Group, where he led all investment efforts in Texas and Colorado for the organization. He joined Acram Group in 2018, when he moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area from New York City, where he’d been working as Vice President of Acquisitions for L&L Holding Company. While there, he served as Project Director for 390 Madison, an 850,000 square foot office and retail development in New York City, and completed over $2.0 billion of acquisitions and joint venture recapitalizations in New York City.

“I have known the Foundry leadership since the start of my career and early days of the company’s history, and I have the utmost respect for those leading this firm. I have been so impressed to watch how they have built Foundry into one of the most influential commercial real estate players in the southeastern U.S.,” said Traynor. “I place a lot of trust in what the company is doing and where it is going. The opportunity to lead the development and investment efforts in one of the strongest growth markets in the country, with the backing of Foundry’s deep-rooted platform and institutional resources, places me in a position to build a significant presence in Texas for Foundry.”

Traynor joining Foundry Commercial is a homecoming as he interned for the company in 2009 while he was a student at the University of Central Florida. Since that time, he has worked in New York City and Dallas establishing himself as a formidable commercial real estate professional, specializing in development and acquisitions in markets throughout the U.S.

“Early in his career, Jim interned with us, and we could not be more thrilled to reconnect with him in Dallas,” said Pryse Elam, Chief Investment Officer of Foundry Commercial. “Jim has the great combination of intelligence and hustle; we look for him to do great things with us.”

Traynor is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. He also graduated from the Hough Graduate School of Business at the University of Florida with a master’s degree in real estate. He is a board member of the New York Private Equity Network (NYPEN) and an active member in the Dallas community, where he lives with his wife and children.

Traynor is the latest to join Foundry in the firm’s Dallas office, where it was recently announced that 30+ year commercial real estate veteran Steve Bassett was appointed Texas Market Leader. Since coming on board in March, Bassett has helped to attract three additional senior-level hires to the firm’s growing Texas presence.
