Many of Houston’s data centers emerge from Hurricane Harvey unscathed

For a data center, flooding isn’t just damaging — it’s devastating.

But all in all, many of Houston’s largest data center operators fared well amid Hurricane Harvey, which means businesses here and beyond have experienced little disruption in their operations.

Dallas-based CyrusOne is the city’s largest data center operator. In total, it operates 550,000 square feet in data centers in Houston, a company spokesperson told the Houston Business Journal. None of its facilities incurred any damage or interruption in service, the spokesperson said.
