HOUSTON – The Houston area ranked No. 1 in the U.S. for total goods exported in 2015, which surpassed $97 billion, according to a new U.S. Department of Commerce report. It’s part of a larger merchandise export growth trend from U.S. metro areas that topped $1.3 trillion last year.
It’s also the fourth year in a row the Bayou City has paced the nation in total goods exported.
Houston was one of four cities that exceeded $50 billion in goods exported in 2015—the Bayou City beat out New York, Seattle and Los Angeles.
