RockFarmer Properties Taps Industry Vet, Gary Gilmore as VP of Construction for Southern Markets

RockFarmer Properties, a privately owned fully integrated vertical development and investment firm based in New York City, is pleased to announce that Gary Gilmore has joined the company as Vice President of Construction, Southern Markets.

“RockFarmer understands the inherent value of having someone on the team who can look at a property through the lens of construction and engineering, which is quite different than how an asset manager might look at things,” said Gilmore. “I look forward to joining the RockFarmer team as it continues to expand its presence across the Southern markets.”

Gilmore, who boasts more than 30 years of experience overseeing, constructing, and managing large single- and multi-family portfolios, will be located in Dallas, TX, where RockFarmer will open a new office in 2022. Most recently, Gilmore served as AVP of Construction Engineering at Hudson Advisors, LLC in Dallas, TX, where he managed capital improvements on a variety of property types across the country.

“Following the purchase of five significant multifamily rental communities in Texas over the past six months, it was important to have an experienced eye on the ground locally as we begin to execute major capital improvements across our Texas-based portfolio while seeking out additional opportunities across the Sun Belt states,” said John Petras, Principal of RockFarmer Properties.

In his new role, Gilmore will manage upcoming capital improvement plans at existing assets, manage capital and operating expenditures, and act as an advisor to the company’s executive team on all new Southern-based property acquisitions.

“Gary’s expertise has already proven incredibly valuable as we begin the renovation of existing units under management and as we look at new properties to acquire heading in to 2022,” said George Michelis, Principal of RockFarmer Properties.

Gilmore is a graduate of Indiana State University, where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In his free time, Gilmore enjoys volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and exploring the outdoors—he is an avid hiker who alongside his wife, has hiked The Grand Canyon, Yosemite and most recently, Glacier National Park.
