NewQuest Announces New Broker Hires Joe Burke, Charles McGahren and Travis Waltmon in Houston

NewQuest Properties has expanded its land group and tenant advisory services in an ongoing quest to add experienced talent to its veteran brokerage ranks. NewQuest now holds the distinction of having one of the largest land-focused brokerage groups in Houston and the state. Joe Burke and Charles McGahren recently joined the team as vice president and associate, respectively. Travis Waltmon is the newest senior associate in tenant advisory services. Burke is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with more than 20 years of active duty service. The Montgomery County resident, formerly with Colliers International, will focus on the north and northwest Houston submarkets. McGahren will specialize in acquisition and disposition of land for developers of all property types. He most recently worked in land brokerage at Cushman & Wakefield of Texas. Marking his sixth year in commercial real estate, Waltmon represents numerous national retailers, including Jiffy Lube, The Joint Chiropractic, Easyvet Clinic, Crunch Fitness, and Cabo Bob’s as well as several regional retail brands and landlords. He most recently was an associate with Edge Realty Partners. In the nine months, NewQuest has gained four land brokers. The specialized 12-broker team of mostly veterans represents decades of experience for all types of land transactions. NewQuest’s focus on expanding the land group is a result of market conditions. Property owners are eyeing the upside from strong demand by developers and corporate relocations. With it currently being a sellers’ market, NewQuest has marketing assignments for 175 listings from one acre to thousands of acres in Greater Houston and statewide. Land plays are aimed at all property sectors for development and redevelopment throughout the region. The Texas attraction, specifically Greater Houston, is its pro-business stance and strong year-over-year population growth.
