Principal Jonathan Hicks
Hicks has more than 15 years of experience in public accounting and commercial real estate. He specializes in tenant representation, land, and investment sales and represents national, regional, and local tenants in assessing, planning, and executing their market development strategy in Houston and Southeast Texas.
He has been involved in a variety of transactions involving Walmart, Speedway (subsidiary of 7-Eleven), Take 5, Meineke, RV Retailer, Target, Tuesday Morning, Ideal Image, Leslie’s Pools, Barry’s Bootcamp, CATO, Planet Fitness, Lowe’s, Main Event, and Macy’s.
Before rejoining Edge, Hicks served for six years as the managing principal in the SRS Real Estate Partners’ Houston office where he was the lead business generator and oversaw the company’s strategic vision through recruitment, management, and branding. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University earning a master’s degree in land economics and real estate.
Vice President Brooks Shanklin
With more than a decade of experience, Shanklin brings a thorough understanding of the Houston market where he specializes in project leasing, tenant representation and land transactions.
He began his career at Read King Commercial Real Estate as part of the brokerage team, focusing on leasing a portfolio of grocery anchored developments, power centers and neighborhood strip centers totaling more than 500,000 square feet. Throughout his career Brooks has collaborated with several third-party clients including Exxon Mobil, MetroNational, Rice Management Company, Blackrock, and Westwood Financial. His goal is to achieve maximum value for each client utilizing his relationships and expertise in the market.
He is a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker and a member of ICSC. He received a BBA from Baylor University.
