CBRE: Dallas-Fort Worth among the three tech markets with most momentum

DFW boasts some of the greatest momentum in the country when it comes to high-tech job growth, a new study has found.

The area’s growth rate for high-tech jobs increased from 10.8 percent during the 2012-2014 period to 19.7 percent in 2013-2015, according to CBRE’s Tech Thirty report. Only two other markets – Toronto and Charlotte – saw a higher percentage-point increase.

Corporate relocations keep pouring into North Texas and with that brings an influx of people. An influx so great that experts say the prices of homes in the area have risen more than 43 percent over the last five years — the biggest rise DFW has ever seen.

Dallas is the eighth best city in the U.S. to start a business, according to CNBC’s ‘Metro 20’ list.

CNBC examined the 107 American areas that have a population of more than 500,000. Another Texas city, Austin, topped the list at No. 1. In total there were six Texas cities in the top 20, four in the top 10.

Texas ranks near top of aerospace manufacturing report

When it comes to aerospace manufacturing, Texas is among the top 10 states in the U.S., according to a detailed international industry analysis from PricewaterhouseCoopers. The same study also ranked the United States as the most-attractive nation for aerospace manufacturing.
