Developer to begin next phase of e-commerce park in South Dallas

A Reno, Nevada-based real estate investment firm is putting its chips on a recently delivered distribution center in South Dallas, which is the initial phase of a two-building business park.

Dermody Properties, a real estate investment, development and management firm, has finished construction on a 626,439-square-foot distribution hub at Bonnie View Road and Logistics Drive near Interstate 20.

The Class A distribution hub has the ability to expand to more than 1.1 million square feet of space.

$108M Virgin Hotel Dallas bringing lace-clad vision to Design District

When Dallas developer Bill Hutchinson began to describe the new Virgin Hotel Dallas project, he felt it was important to expose parts of it with the help of a lace-like exterior clinging to the building — which drove the design of the upscale hotel.

But perhaps one of the most interesting design features of the $108 million hotel development was inspired by a glossy white Jeep Grand Cherokee.

“One of the construction team members drove their new Jeep Grand Cherokee with a beautiful gloss automotive finish to the job site and Bill looked over and said, ‘I like the white Jeep,’ and we actually matched the color of the Jeep to the skin of the building,” said Scott Lowe, a principal at Dallas-based 5G Studio Collaborative, the project architect.

Success at Shops at Park Lane brings forward plans for new 11-story office tower

With the majority of the office space being leased up at The Shops at Park Lane, New York-based real estate investment firm Northwood Investors has unveiled plans for a new 11-story, 340,000-square-foot office tower.

The office tower at 8010 Park Lane will sit on the north side of The Shops at Park Lane, and will include ground-floor retail space that will open up to a community park.

The construction is slated to begin after a specified amount of space is pre-leased to an office tenant. With a 98 percent occupancy of office space at The Shops at Park Lane, leasing officials say they expect to see robust demand.

New York coworking concept gears up for $20M expansion in Dallas

New York-based Industrious — one of the biggest coworking concepts in the industry — is plotting a $20 million expansion in North Texas, which could put up to eight locations in the region.

The expansion plans come weeks after Industrious opened its initial location within One Arts Plaza in the Dallas Arts District, which CEO and Co-Founder Jamie Hodari says is going well.

Global concept wants in downtown Dallas’ most iconic tower

An Australian-based global coworking concept touting flexible leases and virtual offices in the globe’s finest office towers plans to double its footprint in Dallas as it searches the central business district for the city’s most iconic skyscraper.

Sydney-based Servcorp, which has been operating throughout the globe for four decades, is readying a real estate search in downtown Dallas for upwards of 40,000 square feet of office space.

California tile and stone distributor to make big push into Texas

With a nearly 70-year history of getting designer tiles to builders throughout the California coast, Anaheim-based Bedrosians Tile and Stone plans to soon make its way to the central United States — with a new regional base in North Texas.

Bedrosians Tile and Stone has acquired three sites in North Texas, with plans to put its new regional base of operations and distribution center within Mercer Crossing in Farmers Branch, with additional retail showrooms near Collin Creek Mall in Plano and near Nebraska Furniture Mart in The Colony.
