Biggest DFW food distribution hub to hit the market in a decade could attract major operator

The biggest refrigerated food distribution facility to land on the market in Dallas-Fort Worth in the last 10 years is being shopped around town and could bring a major grocery operator to the region.

Associated Wholesale Grocer’s decided to consolidate its regional operations in Oklahoma and put the nearly 1.15 million-square-foot facility on a 90.68-acre tract at 7550 Oak Grove Road in Fort Worth on the market.

Toyota supplier moves its California headquarters to Plano

A tech firm that supplies materials to Toyota North America has completed its move from the West Coast to Plano, which puts it in close proximity to the Japanese automaker’s new corporate home.

SOLiD Inc. ( KOSDAQ: A050890), a Korean-based wireless equipment provider, has moved into its new Americas corporate headquarters at 800 Klein Road in Plano. In all, the firm is leasing 48,526 square feet of office space at the new location

Dallas firm in talks to buy Colorado-based competitor, report says

Global engineering firm Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) could acquire another U.S.-based company, which, if successful, could give the Dallas-based engineering firm a much-needed stronghold in the United Kingdom.

Jacobs has been working to expand its operations in England in recent years because the market has massive growth potential for the global engineering firm, which recently moved its worldwide headquarters to downtown Dallas.

$200M Irving Music Factory project coming ‘down to the wire,’ for Labor Day opening

With weeks left before the $200 million Irving Music Factory opens to thousands of fans on Labor Day weekend for sold-out shows featuring comedian Dave Chappelle, the developer is adding a third shift of construction workers to wrap up the project anchored by Live Nation Entertainment Inc. (NYSE: LYV).

“It’s not like we can push this back a week, we have a hard stop,” Noah Lazes, president of The Ark Group of North Carolina, told the Dallas Business Journal.“We have to be ready and we are not taking chances. We want to drive it forward as quickly as possible.

Global law firm gains foothold in Uptown with Park District deal

Global giant Winston & Strawn LLP will open its new Dallas office in Uptown’s Park District office tower adjacent to Klyde Warren Park, putting the law firm in a high-profile building with building signage rights.

The law firm decided to lease two floors at PwC Tower at Park District totaling about 56,000 square feet of office space and building signage rights, according to real estate sources. With the deal, Winston & Strawn will give the growing team of lawyers plenty of runway for business.

Work begins on new office building near Maple Avenue in Dallas

Construction has begun on a new Dallas office building in the Maple Avenue corridor near Old Parkland to house a family office for three families, and will also bring additional office space to this part of the city.

The Old Parkland office campus, which has been developed by Dallas developer Harlan Crow, touts some of the highest lease rates in Dallas and has been filled to occupancy. Crow recently began the campus’ last addition.
