Stories to follow in 2019: Watershed study to determine Fort Bend County flood bond

Over the past three years, Fort Bend County, Sugar Land and Missouri City have prioritized flood-control projects in response to the four major flooding events that have affected the area, including the most recent flooding from Hurricane Harvey. A Brazos River Erosion Management study is in progress, aimed at addressing drainage issues in preparation for the next storm. In June 2018, county engineers told the court it will need about $369 million in bonds to address needed drainage improvements.
