DFW steel firm buys Conroe facility, plans to hire and expand

Falcon Steel America — a steel fabricator based in Haltom City just outside of Fort Worth — acquired a 226,000-square-foot facility near Houston that will increase its production capacity by 60 percent, the company announced Nov. 28.

The facility is located in Conroe, about 40 miles north of Houston along Interstate 45 and was built five years ago. The company plans to hire 150 workers to run the facility.

“Conroe adds about another 40,000 tons to our capacity,” said Jim Taylor, president and CEO of Falcon Steel.
