Development Partnership Reaches Fifth Project

Nelson Commercial Undertakes Newest Endeavor for LKQ Corporation

NEW BRAUNFELS –Mar 16, 2016 – Nelson Commercial Properties (“NCP”), a Houston-based commercial development and acquisition firm, has started development of a new 100,372 square foot, state of the art distribution center for LKQ Corporation (“LKQ”). The facility is located on a 90-acre site just north of New Braunfels, Texas, off Highway 35 South.

This marks the fifth project NCP will have completed for LKQ, the nation’s largest supplier of recycled, aftermarket, and reconditioned car, truck and heavy-duty truck parts. The company operates a network of more than 500 facilities in the US, Canada, Mexico, Central America and Europe. “LKQ continues to be the leader in their industry and is constantly improving it,” says Jim Nelson, President of NCP.

In addition to NCP, the development team consists of 6E Construction as the General Contractor, Pape Dawson is the Civil Engineer, and architecture services from MIII Designs. The building will feature dock high and grade level loading with a 34’ clear height, extensive truck courts, and an ESFR sprinkler system. It will include 6,500 square feet of office space and over 100 parking spaces, as well as an attractive design with limestone accents.

In reference to the site selection and New Braunfels being chosen for the development, Jim Nelson explains: “In our search for a Central Texas location, the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, specifically Rusty Brockman, Director of Economic Development, was extremely helpful. Their assistance with site selection and land planning was invaluable.” This newest LKQ project is expected to be completed by the forth quarter of 2016.
