JLL adds managing director for North Texas retail group

JLL has appointed of Michael Wheat as managing director of the North Texas retail group, marking a significant step in the expansion of retail services across Dallas-Fort Worth.

With over 25 years of real estate experience, Wheat brings a wealth of knowledge to drive growth in the Dallas retail market, focusing on landlord and tenant representation.

Prior to joining JLL, Wheat served as the Managing Director, overseeing leasing for the portfolio of the United States at Cypress Equities. During his tenure, he managed leasing and asset management efforts for a portfolio encompassing 10.5 million square feet. Additionally, his distinguished career includes notable positions at Trammell Crow Company and The MG Herring Group, where he represented renowned clients such as OshKosh, Chico’s, Citibank, and Sears.

KAI adds engineering design manager in Dallas-Fort Worth office

KAI has hired Lydie Mizele as Engineering Design Manager in the Engineering Group at its Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, office.

Mizele has more than 14 years of industry experience in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and energy calculation design. Her extensive portfolio includes retail, hospitality, education, healthcare, government and renovation projects, including the $3 million renovation of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital HEB in Bedford, TX; construction of Tanger Outlets in Fort Worth, TX; and multiple CVS Pharmacy, 7-Eleven and Planet Fitness locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Prior to KAI, Mizele was an MEP Project Manager at The Dimension Group in Dallas, MEP Project Manager at GHC Engineers in Dallas, and MEP Designer & Project Manager for Don Penn Consulting Engineer in Westlake, Texas.

A native of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mizele has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of North Texas – Denton and an Associate of Science in Architecture from Columbus State Community College in Ohio.

She and her husband Jerry have three children, and she enjoys volunteering in ministry to help children around the world. She enjoys reading the Bible and her favorite sport is golf.

SRS Real Estate Partners adds senior vice president to Dallas-Fort Worth office

SRS Real Estate Partners has added Rose Meza to its Dallas-Fort Worth office as a senior vice president focused on retail landlord and tenant representation.

Meza brings more than a decade of real estate experience, including working with retail tenants as well as national and regional owners, such as Washington Prime, Lionstone Investments, The Stainback Group and Weber & Co., among others.

Prior to joining SRS, Meza was a Partner and Senior Vice President at Segovia Partners, where she focused on leasing and growing the retail portfolio as well as assisting tenants with nationwide expansions. Meza’s tenant experience includes entertainment concepts like Slick City Action Park and Dill Dinkers Pickleball, as well as Voodoo Brewing Company and Grupo Zeru, a restaurant group from Mexico City. She started her real estate career at JLL where she led the DFW retail portfolio.

Meza has received numerous accolades in her career, including being recognized as a D CEO Power Broker and a JLL RISE-ing Star.

Cushman & Wakefield adds director of industrial brokerage in Houston

Cushman & Wakefieldannounced that Garrett Thomas has joined the firm as Director, Industrial Brokerage, in Houston.

Thomas is the 13th brokerage professional to join Cushman & Wakefield in Houston in the past 14 months. In the past four years, he’s completed industrial and land transactions valued at more than $135 million. Prior to entering commercial real estate, he served as Director on the Texas House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety.

Thomas joins Cushman & Wakefield from Boyd Commercial Real Estate. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he played football for the Texas Longhorns and was a member of the Texas Cowboys.
