Houston Real Estate Brokerage JLL Lures Tenant Rep Team from Rival CBRE

Commercial real estate firm JLL added a large tenant representation team including, from left, Paul Penland, Steve Hesse, Bentley Scott, Brandon Clarke, James Robertson, Kendall Hughes, Jeff Cairns, Sanford Criner, Mark Reilly, Graham Horton, Rachel Hinton, Matt Trozzo, Charles Gordon, Josh O’Rear, Harrison Yang and Ryan Roth. The team previously worked at CBRE.

In the latest salvo in Houston’s competitive commercial real estate brokerage market, JLL has lured a 19-person tenant representation team from CBRE. The move, announced Tuesday morning, follows the departure of members of JLL’s investment brokerage team for CBRE last month. The addition of former CBRE executives Charles Gordon, Sanford Criner, Brandon Clarke and Steve Hesse, along with their team, brings JLL’s headcount to 32 brokers specializing in tenant representation. It also bolsters JLL’s office site selection practice at a time when companies are evaluating their needs as the coronavirus pandemic upends the market. More employees are working from home or returning to different and evolving set ups at their offices.
