Cushman & Wakefield executive will help lead top association for commercial real estate development
AUSTIN, Texas, January 19, 2023 – NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, has named Spencer Hayes, Executive Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield, to serve on its 2023 Board of Directors. Hayes will work with fellow members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee to guide the direction of the leading organization for developers, owners and related professionals in office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate.
“Spencer brings extensive industry experience to NAIOP’s Board of Directors,” said Marc Selvitelli, CAE, NAIOP president and CEO. “His industry knowledge and thought leadership are beneficial to the association’s future growth and success, and I look forward to his contributions as a member of the Board.”
NAIOP has more than 20,000 members in 52 chapters across North America. The 2023 Board of Directors is led by Chair Kim Snyder, president, west region, Prologis, Inc. Hayes is part of NAIOP’s Austin chapter where he is a founding board member.
Hayes previously served as the Managing Principal of Cushman & Wakefield’s Austin and San Antonio offices from 2016-2021, growing the markets exponentially through the addition of multifamily, project management, property management, and capital markets.
Previously, he was co-founder and Managing Principal of Oxford Commercial. In 2016, after growing Oxford Commercial into a market leader for 23 years, Hayes negotiated the sale of the firm to Cushman & Wakefield.
