CBRE welcomes high performing industrial & logistics team in Houston

Houston – CBRE announced that Grant Hortenstine, Thomas Berry, Pearce Martens and Jeff Wood have joined its Houston Industrial & Logistics group. Mr. Hortenstine will serve as a Senior Vice President and Mr. Berry, Mr. Martens and Mr. Wood as Vice Presidents.

The team joins from Savills Industrial and specialize in representing industrial users with leasing and acquisitions across the Gulf Coast. They serve their clients with a variety of real estate needs, including lease negotiations, sales, build-to-suits, investments, site selection, lease restructures and sale/leasebacks.

“Adding Grant, Thomas, Pearce and Jeff is a tremendous complement to our existing industrial team and expands our reach across the Gulf Coast,” said Peter Mainguy, Senior Managing Director for CBRE’s Houston office. “Their dynamic and energetic approach to business combined with CBRE’s extensive platform will be a successful formula to winning new business and expanding our market share.”  

Since 2020, the team has completed transactions valued at over $240 million in consideration.

Mr. Hortenstine has 10 years of commercial real estate experience. In 2023 alone, he was responsible for transactions totaling 1.2 million sq. ft. and valued at $50 million. He was recently named as one of Connect Media’s 2024 Top Brokers, was a finalist for NAIOP’s Broker of the Year in 2022, and received NAIOP’s Rising Industrial Star of the Year award in 2018. He most recently served as an Executive Managing Director at Savills Industrial since 2020.

Mr. Berry has over five years of commercial real estate experience, beginning his career with Avison Young in 2019. He most recently served as a Managing Director at Savills Industrial. 

Mr. Martens began working in commercial real estate in 2021 after working at Marathon Oil Corporation as an Advanced Land Professional, managing various onshore assets across North America. He most recently served as an Associate Director at Savills Industrial.

Mr. Wood began his real estate career in 2020 after working as a senior analyst for a corporate tax consulting firm, where he created and led the firm’s quality control data analytics team. He most recently served as an Associate Director at Savills Industrial.

According to CBRE’s Q1 2024 Houston Industrial MarketView, Houston’s industrial market has remained robust into the new year with 4.4 million sq. ft. of positive absorption in the first quarter alone. The market currently has 41 projects totaling 12.2 million sq. ft. under construction with 3.8 million sq. ft. pre-leased.

Centersquare leases 30,342 square feet at Coppell’s Cypress Waters

JLL announced that Centersquare has leased 30,342 square feet at Cypress Waters. Located at 3100 Olympus Blvd. in Coppell, Texas, this new space will serve as the new headquarters for approximately 150 employees of Centersquare, a provider of colocation, connectivity and infrastructure solutions.

The relocation comes on the heels of the successful acquisition of Cyxtera by Evoque Data Center Solutions in January, prompting an urgent need to triple its current space and find a pre-built solution to accommodate its expanding workforce. The combined company announced its new brand, Centersquare, earlier this month.

Cypress Waters is a 1,000-acre sustainable, mixed-use, master-planned community with commercial office, retail, multi-family residences, and three schools. Additionally, there is an array of amenities and regularly scheduled events for tenants including a fitness center, conference center, walkability to a variety of lakeside restaurants, a concert venue and outdoor green spaces with bike and walking trails.

Savills names CRE veteran as co-president of Texas region

Savills appointed Cally Miltenberger as co-president for its Texas region.

Miltenberger is an accomplished commercial real estate executive with deep roots in the Dallas Fort-Worth metroplex and has over 19 years of industry experience.

As Co-President, Texas Region, Miltenberger will partner with current Texas President Mark O’Donnell to execute a strategic expansion of Savills across the region. This newly combined leadership team will be responsible for implementing the firm’s investment strategy within the commercial brokerage, capital markets, and consultancy divisions across the Dallas Fort-Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio markets.

In addition, Miltenberger and O’Donnell will support the Savills global occupier services (GOS) platform and collaborate with the team to identify portfolio pursuits and administer regional transactions. Miltenberger will be based in Dallas and will work closely with the local brokerage and consulting teams.

Miltenberger joins Savills from Link Logistics where she was vice president of customer solutions where she worked closely with the most critical clients within the global supply chain. Previously, she was a client solutions leader for CBRE where she focused on winning and structuring successful partnerships with multi-market occupier clients across all industries and ranging in size from Fortune 500 companies to the middle market.

Prior to these roles, Cally spent over a decade as a management consultant in EY’s Strategy and Transaction Group focusing on developing and implementing bespoke strategies and initiatives for corporate real estate organizations. In her early career, she gained experience as a tenant rep broker at JLL, a capital markets analyst at The Staubach Company, and a staff consultant at PwC. Miltenberger has been recognized for her professional accomplishments, including receiving CREW Network’s National Impact Award, and being elected as the CREW Dallas president in 2022.

Adolfson & Peterson Construction names VP of Central Texas region

Adolfson & Peterson Construction promoted Eric Churchill to Vice President of Central Texas.

Churchill takes on this role less than two years after joining AP as Central Texas Business Development Director.

In his new position, Churchill works with regional leadership to provide direction and drive AP’s Central Texas expansion efforts. To that end, he is also responsible for all business development efforts, including setting and executing Central Texas revenue and profit goals.

Armed with more than three decades of professional business development experience, Churchill increased AP’s Central Texas region revenue in his two years in the role and is projected to nearly triple revenue growth in 2024. He also diligently diversified AP’s client base by pursuing and obtaining business in the educational, healthcare, multifamily, office and mission-critical sectors.

A Texas A&M graduate, Churchill serves on the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Management Committee, ULI Austin Advisory Board, ULI Sponsorship Chair and Programs Committee and the ULI Austin P3 Local Member Council. He is affiliated with the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) and serves on the RECA Programs Committee. He is also involved with the Society for Marketing Professional Services Austin Chapter, which honored him with its inaugural leadership award.
