Miguel Arguelles has been promoted to Vice President of Operations for the Marine and Industrial business unit of McCarthy Building Cos. He previously served as Director. Arguelles has built his career on important public infrastructure projects along with private and public port work covering the Texas Gulf Coast. Arguelles has been with McCarthy his entire career, starting with an internship in San Antonio and progressing over the past 15 years.

Pfluger Architects welcomes Cody Cunningham as Director of Communications and Community Engagement. With a strong corporate and school communications background, Cody has provided bond planning and campaign strategies that have led to over $3B in successful bond initiatives. His expertise will deepen Pfluger’s commitment to nurturing meaningful relationships, building strong communities, and creating innovative architecture.

Kristen Baker recently joined Newmark as a Director, specializing in office leasing on behalf of landlords throughout Houston, Texas. Baker is experienced in leasing boutique and large buildings for entrepreneurial and institutional ownership groups and has represented office assets in most major Houston submarkets and throughout Chicago.

The Fields Companies is pleased to announce that Eric Houston has joined the globally renowned steel distributor and manufacturer as Chief Development Officer of Foxgate Capital, a Fields Cos. subsidiary that focuses on platform-oriented investment strategies – specifically in Texas – that possess industry-specific growth drivers and strong housing demand dynamics. Houston is a proven real estate and finance professional who has served in those industries for over 25 years. He boasts specific acumen in mortgage dealings – having owned his own mortgage company for 15 years – and has executed a number of high-profile investment deals. Most recently, Houston served in a leadership role in the land acquisition, construction and sale of successful venture Eric & Jay’s RV Resort. In his new role, Houston is focused on raising capital for a number of projects currently in various stages of development and seeks to procure new project opportunities that may be investable for the firm.
