DLR Groups appoints Luis Alvarez, Assoc. AIA, to Senior Associate. McCarthy Building Cos. has promoted Colleen Martindale to VP of Preconstruction for the civil business unit. In this role, Martindale will lead the civil estimating department for the Southern Region, and is responsible for generating budgets for job pursuits, coordinating handoff to the operations team, and tracking and analyzing production data to refine historical costs. In addition, she leads a team of estimators working on heavy civil projects including transportation and aviation.

He is deeply involved in the community serving on committees and various leadership roles with many professional and philanthropic organizations including Central Houston Inc., Urban Land Institute, Rice Design Alliance, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and the Houston Marathon. He is active in his church, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, where he serves on the Lay Leadership Committee. Ladewig earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture at Texas Tech University where he currently serves as Chair of the Chapter Development Committee on the Texas Tech Alumni Association’s National Board of Directors. He also earned a master’s degree in Space Architecture from the University of Houston and is an advocate for the commercialization of space through his work as host of ‘That Space Podcast’.

Jay Chappell was hired as IMA Financial Group’s new Central Region Sales Leader, responsible for new business and producer hiring strategy and development in the Carolinas, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, and Wichita. Jay held various roles at Lockton and led Corporate Risk and Broking for the TX region at Willis Towers Watson. His knowledge and experience will help extend IMA’s footprint in the area and enhance its ability to offer best-in-class services across the Central Region.
