CBRE welcomes high performing industrial & logistics team in Houston

Houston – CBRE announced that Grant Hortenstine, Thomas Berry, Pearce Martens and Jeff Wood have joined its Houston Industrial & Logistics group. Mr. Hortenstine will serve as a Senior Vice President and Mr. Berry, Mr. Martens and Mr. Wood as Vice Presidents.

The team joins from Savills Industrial and specialize in representing industrial users with leasing and acquisitions across the Gulf Coast. They serve their clients with a variety of real estate needs, including lease negotiations, sales, build-to-suits, investments, site selection, lease restructures and sale/leasebacks.

Since 2020, the team has completed transactions valued at over $240 million in consideration.

Mr. Hortenstine has 10 years of commercial real estate experience. In 2023 alone, he was responsible for transactions totaling 1.2 million sq. ft. and valued at $50 million. He was recently named as one of Connect Media’s 2024 Top Brokers, was a finalist for NAIOP’s Broker of the Year in 2022, and received NAIOP’s Rising Industrial Star of the Year award in 2018. He most recently served as an Executive Managing Director at Savills Industrial since 2020.

Mr. Berry has over five years of commercial real estate experience, beginning his career with Avison Young in 2019. He most recently served as a Managing Director at Savills Industrial. 

Mr. Martens began working in commercial real estate in 2021 after working at Marathon Oil Corporation as an Advanced Land Professional, managing various onshore assets across North America. He most recently served as an Associate Director at Savills Industrial.

Mr. Wood began his real estate career in 2020 after working as a senior analyst for a corporate tax consulting firm, where he created and led the firm’s quality control data analytics team. He most recently served as an Associate Director at Savills Industrial.

According to CBRE’s Q1 2024 Houston Industrial MarketView, Houston’s industrial market has remained robust into the new year with 4.4 million sq. ft. of positive absorption in the first quarter alone. The market currently has 41 projects totaling 12.2 million sq. ft. under construction with 3.8 million sq. ft. pre-leased.
