Johnson Development Corp. has broken ground on Veranda, a new master-planned community southwest of Houston.

The Houston developer, along with Richmond city officials and representatives from The Henderson-Wessendorff Foundation, held a groundbreaking ceremony Sept. 29 for the new community, which sits near the northwest corner of Williams Way Boulevard and U.S. Highway 59 in Richmond.
