Steven Benton was recently promoted to Chief Financial Officer at HPI. Since 2016 Steven has lead HPI’s tax department consulting on issues related to taxes. These include sales and acquisition transactions, structuring partnership agreements, proper income tax allocations, preferred and incentive units, and determining the tax consequences of varying exit strategies.  Steven’s purview is expanded to include property management and development accounting. Before joining HPI, he spent extensive time in the San Antonio and Austin Public Accounting sectors. Steve is a native of Dallas and moved to Austin to attend UT Austin. He enjoys spending time with his family as well as hunting in the Texas hill country and fishing the Texas coast.
