S&P Names Ken Smith New Central Texas Operation Lead

Ken Smith, Senior Vice President of Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc. (S&P), has been named the leader of our Central Texas Business Unit. The office is headquartered in San Antonio at 12823 Wetmore Road, and currently serves clients in Austin as well as South and Central Texas. In his new role, Smith is responsible for all operations of the Central Texas Business Unit, including business development and executive project oversight. He is also responsible for ensuring that operational performance of the S&P team maintains the high levels of safety, quality, innovation and service for which the company is known, and is in compliance with corporate policies and procedures. S&P has plans to open a separate Austin office in the first half of 2021, which Smith also will oversee, to accommodate its growing roster of clients. “Ken is known for his abilities to collaborate with our clients and partners for mutual success of a project,” said George A. Pontikes, Jr., CEO and Founder of Satterfield & Pontikes. “Using our proprietary processes and deep technological skills, I am confident that Ken and his teams will deliver predictable scheduling, equipment and manpower for the completion of projects on time and within agreed to budgets.” Smith has been involved with many construction projects in the Central Texas market over the years, including those in retail for Wal-Mart, in higher education both for the University of Texas and for Texas A&M, and in public works for the Texas Facilities Commission.
