McCownGordon Construction Taps Amanda Tran and Mandy Squib to Lead Preconstruction and Packaging Engineering

McCownGordon added two seasoned construction executives to its Dallas-Fort Worth team, hiring Mandy Squib to lead the preconstruction department and Amanda Tran to lead the packaging engineering service line for the Manufacturing Business Unit. The move further expands the company’s presence in the market and brings extensive, specialized expertise to the quickly growing team.

“The addition of Mandy and Amanda fulfills two critical roles for our team,” said Deren Wilcox, senior vice president and business unit leader for the Dallas-Fort Worth region. “Mandy’s preconstruction expertise and knowledge of the market brings a wealth of expertise to the team that will be valued by our corporate clients while Amanda’s extensive background in food and beverage packaging engineering will prove invaluable to McCownGordon’s manufacturing clients.”

Squib will serve as director of Preconstruction for the Dallas-Fort Worth office, working directly with clients, design teams and trade partner in the market to provide value-driven construction solutions for owners and developers. She brings more than 15 years of experience to the team, more than a decade of that in the local region. Since landing in DFW, she’s worked on projects totaling more than six million square feet and $1 billion. Her experience also includes work on two historical renovations listed in the National List of Historic Places. In addition to her work, Squib is passionate about mentoring young high school students in their path to construction management.

“The culture and values of McCownGordon drew me in and are the foundation for what will be a successful venture here in DFW,” said Squib. “I’m in the business of building great projects and have a passion for what I do; I bring that same passion and energy to this new role and am excited to help build the DFW office of McCownGordon by working alongside a stellar team of talent and leadership.”

Based in the Dallas-Fort Worth office, Tran will serve as a leadership team member for the company’s manufacturing business unit where her extensive expertise will play a pivotal role in delivering successful solutions to clients. In her prior role at a leading engineering firm focused on the food and beverage market, Amanda lead the packaging design for a new greenfield coffee facility in China for one of the largest coffee companies in the world. She was formerly the design lead for a large greenfield project in Singapore with multiple packaging lines for both dry powders and liquids and was the design, onsite startup and procurement lead for new can line for the largest winery in California. She has served as the design lead for multiple other projects and also conducted numerous conceptual project plans, feasibility studies and masterplan studies for clients.

“I am excited about the opportunity to help grow and develop the manufacturing team within McCownGordon and to be part of the company’s expansion to the DFW area,” said Tran. “McCownGordon has a great company culture and values that align with my own, which was also very important to me.”

With the growth into Dallas-Fort Worth, McCownGordon continues to build on its strong foundation throughout the central United States, expanding its footprint to better serve national clients and continue to provide growth opportunities for its associates. “We are committed to exploring opportunities that promote growth and success for our associates, clients and the company,” Cherafat added. “This is just another step in ensuring smart growth that meets our customer’s needs and ensures we continue to attract and retain the top talent in the marketplace.”
