Moody National Cos. has broken ground on its next Residence Inn by Marriott near the Texas Medical Center, the Houston-based developer announced Oct. 31.

The 16-story, 182-room hotel is expected to open in early 2019, according to a press release. It also will include a 4.5-story parking garage and four private meeting spaces totaling 5,000 square feet. 

Located at 7807 Kirby Drive, the hotel will be less than a mile north of NRG Stadium and roughly a mile from the Texas Medical Center. Moody National’s press release touts the location as “perfectly suited for an extended-stay hotel.”
