Exclusive: Houston energy company to sell 10,000 acres

Houston- and New Jersey-based NRG Energy Inc. (NYSE: NRG) will auction off 10,000 acres in Henderson County and Anderson County in east Texas in November, a company spokesperson confirmed to the Houston Business Journal.

The 10,000 acres are part of a larger 11,831-acre property that’ll go to auction on Nov. 14 at the Hart-Morris Conservation Center in Athens, Texas. The land is being marketed by Scott Shuman, Tyler Jacobs and Monte Lyons of Montana-based Hall and Hall.

In a statement to the Houston Business Journal, an NRG Energy spokesperson said the land was acquired many years ago by Houston Lighting & Power for a future power plant development.
