Houston real estate execs take part in Harvey water rescues

When Hurricane Harvey made landfall on Friday, Aug. 25, Coe Parker was keeping an eye on the Category 4 hurricane’s severity from his home in the Rice Military area.

He was also thinking about the aftermath of the storm.

“I knew if I could get out of my house, I’d be out there working,” Parker said.

In the ensuing days, scores of Houstonians, as well as volunteers who drove to Houston from all over the U.S., could be seen traversing through the floodwaters to help the thousands of residents trapped in their homes. Dozens of members of Houston’s commercial real estate community were among the volunteers.
